Employee Benefits Program is introduced in every company, to motivate employees in the organization. These benefits are provided to employees by employers on various grounds which can be medical, educational, or even psychological benefits. These benefits give employees a sense of dependability on the organization which in turn benefits the organization to get engaged and dedicated employees.

Investing in employee preparation and advancement not only benefits the organization as a whole but also yields significant returns for individual employees.

Benefits Eligibility: The eligibility for benefits depends on several factors, including employee classification. The HR Department identifies and administers benefit programs based on individual eligibility criteria.

Here is an overview of the various benefits that organizations usually provide to their employees;

Holidays
The organization provides holiday time off to all employees in accordance with State Government notifications. The Human Resource Department maintains a list of holidays, which varies by region. Typically, employees are entitled to a minimum of;

Maternity Leave Benefits
Female employees who are permanent members of the organization are eligible for maternity leave if they fulfill the minimum requirements such as they should be working with the organization for at least for last 6 months.

Eligible women can avail of maternity benefits for a maximum period of 26 weeks, with a portion of the benefit applicable before the expected date of delivery. The benefit covers various situations related to pregnancy and childbirth, including miscarriages, sickness, premature birth, and death during the pregnancy period.

Maternity Benefits are enforced by the Indian Government.

Paternity Leave Benefit
Different organizations have different leave durations for paternity leave. Some of the Big 4 companies have Paternity Leave ranging from 20 working days to 30 or 45 days.

Education, Training, and Personal Development
The organization emphasizes the importance of ongoing education, training, and professional development for its employees. A structured training and orientation program is in place for various job classifications, supplemented by a coaching/mentoring system to support professional growth. Employees are encouraged to pursue continuing education initiatives and job-specific training, with all courses requiring approval from a supervisor and a Human Resources representative.

Recognizing the pivotal role of skill and knowledge in organizational success, the organization offers educational and training assistance programs to its employees and associated members. However, participation in formal training does not guarantee automatic advancement, job reassignment, or pay increases. Additionally, employees or associated members undertaking training may be required to sign a bond based on the duration and cost of the program. While training is expected to enhance performance and professional abilities, individual outcomes may vary.

Some organizations also make it mandatory for employees to get certified and include certifications in bonus criteria or performance, which motivates employees to complete their certifications on time.

Organziations also invest money in providing training and certifications to employees. For example, some companies may ask employees to undergo PL-900 which is basics of Power Platform if the person is working on any projects that require Power Platform or other applications.
